Cardamom has a strong, distinct taste, with an intensely aromatic, musky fragrance.

Black cardamom has a unique smoky aroma, with a coolness some liken to mint. The Green cardamom is one of the most expensive spices by weight.

Uses of the cardamom vary across the world. For example, the cardamom is a common ingredient in Indian cuisine, while in Nordic countries, is used in baking. Green cardamom powder is used in the Middle East as a spice for sweet dishes, or to flavour coffee and tea.

Medicinal uses include aid in digestion, flatulence, gas, detoxifying and improving blood circulation to the lungs.
