Water Caltrop

Not to be confused with the Water Chestnut, despite its many similarities. True to its name, the fruit bears an uncanny similarity to the weapon. Though considered and invasive species and a pest in many countries, the Water Caltrop has been grown in China and India for at least 3,000 years. According to the Chinese Herbal Medicine Summary published in 1694, there is an indication that water caltrop can alleviate fever and drunkenness.
