Ugniberry/ Tazziberry

A perennial plant native to Chile and parts of Argentina. A relative of the Guava, Ugni shrubs grow up to 1.7m tall, though cases of Ugni plants growing up to 3m have been recorded. Its oval, glossy green leaves give of a spicy scent when crushed. Today, cultivation of Ugniberries are limited to southern Chile, where it is used to make liqueur, jam and sweet desserts.
