Stinking Benjamin

The plant’s alternative name “Wake-robin” is derived from the red breasts of the Robin that signal the start of spring. The flowers are a deep red colour, and the plant grows to a little over one feet in height. It is tolerant of extreme cold and survives temperatures down to -35 C°. The Stinking Benjamin is said to smell like rotting flesh. Human consumption is not recommended, due to strong traces of calcium oxalate crystals and crystal raphide.
