Native to Brazil, Paraguay and North Argentina, Passion fruits are typically cultivated in many tropical regions of the world including India, New Zealand and the Caribbean. The fruits are round or oval and when ripe, are yellow or dark purple in colour. Its soft, seedy flesh is filled with numerous seeds and are either eaten from hand or juiced. Passion fruits make an excellent addition to fruit punches, for an added aroma. The dark varieties are smaller, less acidic, and much richer in flavour and aroma than the yellow ones.
