Oregano
Origanum Vulgare

Oregano, also referred to as wild marjoram, originated in the warm temperate climates of the Mediterranean, and is a perennial herb that can reach heights of 80 centimetres. It has oval, dark 1-4 centimetre green leaves that grow in opposite pairs, and spiky white, pink or purple flower stalks. It is valued for its aromatic quality that is pungent and lemony. Its rich flavor is a warm and spicy mix of lemon and floral notes with a slight bitter taste.
