Lemon Balm, often referred to as balm mint, is a perennial herb and a member of the mint family, native to Europe and the Mediterranean. It grows to 70-150 centimetres tall, with heart deeply veined hairy leaves and small bluish-white or yellow flowers blossoming in late summer to autumn. The leaves are gently scented with lemon, and treasured for their varied medicinal uses. They are subtly citrus and fresh scented herb, with a delicate lemon flavor utilized to add zest to sweet or tangy dishes.
