Allium Tuberosum

A relative of the onion family, garlic chives bear a strong resemblance to regular chives, with a mild but distinct garlic flavor. Flowering garlic chives possess a much stronger garlic flavor, whilst yellow chives, which are garlic chives grown under cover, have a mild onion flavor. It is a perennial herb that grow up to 30 centimetres with a distinctive growth habit with strap-shaped leaves and straight thin white-flowering stalks that are much taller than the leaves. The flowers are edible with a similar but milder flavour than the chives, blossoming in the summer.
