Allegedly among the loveliest plants to be grown in one’s garden, the copperleaf plant is a bizzare explosion of rusty red in a sea of green. Also known as Jing Pian San in Mandarin, the leaves are used as an ointment to treat fungal skin diseases.
In Nigeria, the copper leaf was a traditional remedy for breast tumour and inflammation. It is currently being researched as a possible treatment for MRSA and staphylococcus aureus.
