Brooklime, European Speedwell

A succulent herb belonging to the Plantaginaceaes family; it features smooth branches, blunt oblong leaves and tiny, bright flowers with blue or pink variations. The Brooklime grows on the side-lines of streams and trenches in Europe, North Africa and some of Asia. In other continents, the Brooklime is instead an introduced species. Its leaves are known to give off a tart aftertaste.
