Malpighia emarginata, otherwise known as the Barbados cherry, is a tropical fruit-bearing shrub. Famous for being extremely rich in vitamin C, the cherry also contains vitamins a, b1, b2 and b3, including carotenoids and bioflavonoids which are anti-oxidant in nature.

The cherries are typically used to make juices, pulps, vitamin C concentrates and baby food.
